Who to nominate

Do you know a man in your community who is making a real difference in the lives of boys and young men?

It could be:

• the local footy coach who goes above and beyond for his players
• the youth worker creating regular spaces for young guys to connect
• the pastor who holds space for advice and support
• the boss mentoring young tradies with patience and respect
• the neighbour who is always quick to lend a hand

If someone comes to mind, nominate them for the Great Mate Award and help shine a light on the positive role models shaping the next generation.

What you’ll need to nominate

To complete your nomination, please have the following ready:

• your contact details
• your nominee’s contact details
• a short explanation of why they’re a Great Mate (300 words max)
• a photo of your nominee
• two referees and their contact details

Nominations close at 5pm Friday 8 May.

All nominations will be assessed by the Ask A Mate Day Committee, with winners announced publicly on Ask A Mate Day, 16 May 2026.

Each State and Territory winner will receive a $500 gift card, and the National Great Mate Award winner will receive a $1,000 gift card.

Nominate
